Obama "most appealing" Democratic candidate
Edited on Mon Jun-18-07 08:39 AM by jefferson_dem
...according to Forbes.com and E-Poll...

Note that these results are from market research analysis rather than public opinion surveys.

America's Most Appealing Candidates
David A. Andelman, 06.18.07, 6:00 AM ET

<SNIP>

The most appealing Democrat turned out to be Barack Obama, trailing 3% behind Thompson, but 8% ahead of the next highest Democratic finisher--former Vice President Al Gore, who was appealing to 37% of those queried, though he jumped four percentage points since the May tabulation and has still not officially entered the race.

Neither Forbes.com nor E-Poll, the California market research company that is conducting the polling, defines any of the 46 attributes on which it polls its sample population--the same traits it has used to select high-level spokespeople for advertising campaigns for more than a decade. Politics, along with selling cars, television shows, or any other product has become a complex process.

The 46 attributes help define trends and key drivers of what moves a person to respond or to react to the messaging and the messenger. In this case, the candidate's name is given to the polled population which is then asked to match whichever of the attributes it believes is appropriate for the candidate in question.

***

The top-line results:

Ghouliani - 49
Fred - 48
Obama - 45
Gore - 37
Edwards - 34
Richardson - 33
Hillary - 31
McCain - 29
Romney - 29
Tommy T. - 26
Bloomberg - 23
Biden - 17
Newt - 14
Dodd - 12
