Chris Matthews Almost Fought Someone at the Debate
Edited on Tue Jun-19-07 08:15 AM by Superman Returns
Anyone watching this on MSNBC? When he asked Senator Clinton about what she thought of a possible pardon of Libby Scooter, the audience started yelling at him and told him "ask a real question." Then he started yelling at some guy saying "wanna fight?" haha.

2. This outbreak from the audience happened after Hillary twice dodged the question.

3. It's a stupid question. Why is it a symptom of the media "pushing" HRC on us? nt

6. The media game is to get Clinton into a lose/lose position - and she refuses. If she says
pardon (unlikely as that is), she gets most of the nation upset except the far right.

If she says no pardon, she starts a great summer roll of stories on Clinton pardons and Clinton wrongs that maybe should have been charges (something the media will assert with no evidence) and hypotheticals of whether if there had been such charges, would Bill have issued pardons.

Hillary ducked - it is nice having a candidate that is smart enough to not play the right wing media whores - like NBC/Chris - game.

8. So somebody explain how Matthews is "pushing" Hillary
Everything he says, everything he publishes is against her. He gets so upset you can almost see the spittle when he gets going about her. He hates her. How can anybody see that he is pushing her. One of these days he will have a stroke he will get so riled against her.

10. Agreed. I have written to him many times to tell him how unprofessional
his rantings about the Clinton's are. He just cannot be objective when it comes to them. What did they do to him?

Exactly. He takes every opportunity to ding her that's possible
Just tuned in at the end of his questioning of Hillary so I'm not sure if she was first or not, but I have no doubt that he's going to be using her as the benchmark to question the rest of the lineup. "She nuanced" don'tcha know. :eyes:

13. I figure the reason he "pushes" HRC
is it gives him at least a half of a year of fodder for Hardball-all the snarky comments he will be able to make and all the smirking questions he can ask...

11. 'Tis all theatrics.........nothing more! Why should anyone indeed
be concerned over who is operating the crooked crap game?

Isn't it all just calculated behavior for the benefit of the sheeple?

14. She's Very Much the Politician
Not a bad thing ... but avoiding a sensitive question by throwing talking points back at the questioner is a common politician's crutch.

Hillary might make a great president but so far, she seems to lack the courage to say anything controversial. This may be a symptom of the front-runner syndrome.

I'll vote for her...in the general.
