A Union audience cheering the end of Don't Ask Don't Tell |
Wow, just wow. I grew up in a union town and I can't say I thought this day was around the corner when I was growing up. Probably part of it is the difference in the nature of unions. When I was growing up unions were made up of steelworkers, auto workers, rail road workers and the like. Now they are government workers. But I still am just amazed. Gay rights getting union cheers. Who would have thunk it?

3. Unions are different these days |
Unions used to be steelworkers and pipe-fitters. Now they are teachers, secretaries, and nurses.
