Audience Demands Matthews Ask "Real Questions."
While all the candidates were warmly received by the crowd, the award of strongest applause was certainly a toss-up between Clinton and Obama -- although Edwards certainly made attempts to connect with the audience by stressing his ties to the labor movement. Clinton also met with a very interactive audience, especially during a moment when she was asked by Matthews about whether Libby should be pardoned. As Clinton danced around the topic, people in the first few rows of the audience intervened, pressing Matthews to ask a "real question" about issues that actually affect them. She then went on to field questions about labor organization freedom.

a real question?

PS - Still, upon reflection, it kind of bugs me that Sen. Clinton couldn't spit out a simple "no" to a question about pardoning Libby.

5. Okay, THAT made me laugh out loud...

Mrs. Clinton never answers a question directly unless she's seen polling data... don't you know that?

9. First you have to convene the focus group, then look at polling data,

then triangulate it, then talk out of both sides of your mouth ... It's hard work being a DLC appeaser!

6. that was my first reaction ...
but, someone else accurately noted, if she does on record that Libby should not be Pardoned, it gives the right wing talking point fodder throughout the rest of the ordeal, about how Bill pardoned so many people ...

Really, that Mathews would even ask the question, a question that has next to no substance in a democratic candidate forum, highlights how these MSM scumbags are in line with the right wing ...

Also, this highlights how Hillary has become what she has become ... I don't like her as much as I did early on, but the fact is, the right wing with the MSM in tow has just totally tore her apart ... These people have spent a decade and a half attacking her in a preemptive strike on this very moment ...

Not many people would SURVIVE what she has gone through, much less done what she has done ...

2. more interesting is the analysis here at DU
... the gratuitous allegation of "dodging the question" when even the audience caught on to the fact it was an inappropriate and pointless question to ask.
