Why do pundits and debate moderators never mention trade policy?
It's completely obvious that this is a taboo issue. During every debate, they run through all the issues: War, security, health care, immigration, God, gays, reproductive rights, and all of that; but NEVER do you hear any mention of trade policy.

What
the
fuck.

4. I think you're absolutely right.
It's hard to find areas where the parties disagree on trade policy, because they're both owned and operated by major international corporations.

3. Why would they want to open that can of worms? It would just
remind us how much 'free trade' has f-ed up this country.

7. I think it's at least as sexy as health care
Our mismanaged trade policy can be attacked from a national security standpoint, a populist standpoint, and even a libertarian standpoint.

6. That's exactly the point
that I botched in a previous thread! Thank you. Everyone thinks Chinese children slaving away in factories is terrible, but you can't get any policy-makers to even admit a downside to our trade policies, let alone think of solutions to the problem.
