Does anyone have a candidate of the likely contenders that they secretly will NOT vote for if they |
|
get the Democratic nomination? If their any candidate that you feel strongly againstthat you would stay home and not vote? Just curious.

...but during 2004, it was very hard for me to vote for Kerry. I convinced myself I was voting for Edwards/

2. Watch me get flamed but in 2000, I had a hard time voting for Gore! But I did. |

I was not one of them. I saw what he was trying to do in moving to the right and knew it was a mistake. Evidently he came to a similar conclusion as evidenced by his support for Howard Dean in 2004.

11. He definitely was not. |

My cousin asked me when we would have a real Democrat run for office. After the "election" a hiker we met on vacation told me she held her nose to vote for the seemingly pro-corporate Gore. I guess I'm a little atypical in that I am not too hung up on the hot-button social issues and at the time I hard rot fully realized that corporations have taken over the world, so I was not too bothered by Gore being too conservative. I figured the nay-sayers were still hoping for a resurrected FDR. Except for his seemingly rabid pro-Israeli position, I had admired him since he ran in 1988. At the time, I lived in MA so naturally I supported Jesse Jackson. And then Dukakis. What I really appreciated was his vocal opposition to Reagan's SDI thing and his pro-environmental record. So I was pretty excited after 8 years of disappointments when Gore got to take a crack at it. Unfortunately, he was stuck with all the bad parts of the Clinton years and had distanced himself from the good stuff. He should have duct-taped Bill Clinton to his forehead and shouted "four more years."

...I put on my flame retardant suit before making my Kerry response.
I like Gore a lot better now than I did in 2000, so I completely understand.

3. I Couldn't Imagine Either Staying Home |
|
or voting for a Republican candidate in 2008.
But depending on who is nominated, there are certain conditions in which I might conceivably look at Bloomberg. And no, I don't have a list.

15. Well, since I've been disenfranchised by the Electoral College... |
|
...it really doesn't matter whether I support the nominee or not.
On the other hand, my DINO Senator probably won't be getting a vote from me. They call him K-Street's favorite Democrat.

If I like what I hear then whether I vote for him or not will depend who the Democratic nominee is...I'm not prepared to name names...yet.

But if it's a Hillary vs Romney, I feel I'd have to vote Hillary. But I don't know about a Hillary vs Guliani. I don't particularly like Guliani, but I may vote for him under those circumstances....or I just may not vote for a president.
It's a long way off, so we'll just see what happens.

22. No, and never. There is not a single Democrat who would have done what Bush has done to... |
|
...to the environment, women's right to birth control or abortion, and our civil liberties.
It infuriates me when that lie about both parties being the same is floated yet again. Why do the people who say that even bother coming to DU if they believe that? Haven't the last seven godforsaken years taught them anything?

As I have done in the past...
It is too important, this time around, to take control of the executive branch away from the Republicans and put it in the hands of the Democratic Party.
