So who's voting for Bloomberg/Lieberman (I) ???
Any takers?

haha

It'll probably be Bloomberg/Hagel - which will be better for us, since that will guarantee taking more votes from the Republicans.

1. Lieberman would split the Jewish vote,
but any candidate we have will pick up votes to make up for it.

2. Bloomberg/Clark would be lethal to both political parties.
But Clark's a Democrat through and through...so no worries there. And he wouldn't want the VP slot anyway.

19. I agree, this would be the most lethal Indy ticket.
They would hurt both Parties badly, but I don't think Wes Clark would ever agree to such a thing. He is a Democrat, a true-believer, so I just don't see it happening.

3. We WISH it were Bloomberg/Holy Joe--NO Dem would vote for that quisling.
Edited on Tue Jun-19-07 07:42 PM by wienerdoggie
edit to say: I think you have it opposite--Bloomie/Joe would appeal to the Repugs, Bloomie/Hagel will appeal to more Dems than you would think. I know Dems in my family like Hagel.

7. I think if these two want to run on Unity '08's ticket, he would have to stay an "R"--
but lately, his votes in the Senate indicate he's pretty much untethered from the GOP.

6. why would Bloomberg leave the Rs just to partner with Lieberman?
that doesn't make any sense. Bloomberg's a complete opportunist, so there is no reason to expect him to remain consistent. However, the most effective way (and reason) for Bloomberg to distance himself from the republicans is to criticize the war. So then why would he hook up with Joe?

The rumors about Hagel are much more likely.

8. i was sarcastic - hence the hahaha
but seeing that they are now both Independents, its possible they would run together on a ticket. They will monopolize the jewish vote.

14. By your logic,
do you also think a Rice/Powell ticket would monopolize the black vote?

16. i think both could pull in more voters than just one alone can
do u mean Obama/Powell ticket? that's a more likely possibility. I actually think Obama/Powell can win in a landslide pulling in swing republicans in the midwest and west. Obama's partially irish, so that can help with the irish vote also.

12. There is talk that the vice for Bloomberg would be Boren, Oklahoma
Likely to take votes from Republicans and conservative Democrats. There really aren't very many conservative Democrats left. Bush has pushed the center so far to the right that those of us on the "left" really are the center. Conservative Democrats already became Republicans under Reagan.

18. Hagel is far right on most social issues, however
Despite being outspoken on Iraq, Hagel has scored near perfect ratings from a lot of RW organizations on many social issues.

Would Bloomberg be able to reconcile that with his liberal stances on many social issues?

27. Bloomberg's an opportunist who would reconcile selling his mother
if it got him where he wanted to go. :D

Lieberman won't get him there. Hagel might.

17. Rumors are Bloomberg/Hagel
Not sure if Hagel would actually have to sign on as an (I) to be on the ballots or if the top guy carries the whole thing. BTW, Hagel's brother is a Dem.

If money can buy an elected office, the dent to their wallets with their combined incomes would be like dinner and a movie! :wow:

22. Not disagreeing with you on that one! Just a rumor at this point
and it's primarily based on him very publicly having lunch with Hagel while he was in DC. Who knows! Maybe the conversation was more along the lines of..."So, Chuck. Give me the skinny on how those ES&S machines really work." *wink*
