Poll question: If Bloomberg runs, when do you think he will declare? |
|
My best guess would be the summer of 08'. With all his billions, why declare any sooner? What would be the point? A declaration in the summer of 08' would take the spotlight away from the Party conventions and put it on him. And with all his billions to spend, a few months campaigning should be sufficient.
So, if he runs, when do you think he will announce?

2. Actually, what Bloomberg said was that he intends to serve out the remaining ..... |
|
..... (exact number of) days of his mayoral term. After that he said he intends to tend to his charitable organizations.
Cagey wording and can be parsed as a non-committal answer to a direct question.

4. He'll be the Unity '08 Nominee |
|
So, sure, he may say things that sound like he is not going to run ...
... but he will accept a draft from Unity '08.
Furthermore, this is where the major parties have made a big mistake with front-loading these debates and primaries. By middle or late spring 2008, most of America is going to be sick and tired of Hillary and Fred.
In will step Bloomberg and sweep the nation as a fresh face with innovative ideas.
With hundreds of millions of dollars, Mike will be on virtually all state ballots; he will poll high enough to get into the debates; he will fill the vacuum created by the collapsing Republican Party; and I think either he or the Dem will win -- with the GOP nominee coming in third place.
