statement about Bloomberg is just as foolish. Bloomberg is known world wide due to his financial media. His Bloomberg financial press is equal to or better than The Wall Street Journal. Every farmer who follows the futures markets(all) knows Bloomberg.

Because he is not a household name in "your world" doesn't mean he is an unknown.

1. I could be wrong, I am no pundit, but...
The Bloomberg candidacy will go absolutely nowhere, if it even gets started.

2. It has started and in one day, total changed the total complexion of the
campaign. I'll bet not one campaign manager got any sleep last night.

5. Thats more hyperbole in one post than I normally see in a day on DU
Since Bloomie is a Northeast RINO, I don't expect many repuke campaigns even care.

6. Don't you think though....

That a lot of who he winds up attracting will be judged by who he selects for his running mate?

For example, if he goes with the Unity '08 ticket we keep hearing so much about and selects someone like Hagel, it's seems more moderate R's unhappy with their current line-up (even with droopy Thompson)

But if he selects a Democrat.. ... he'll definitely pose more problems on our side..

I suppose...

4. I agree
I don't understand the hoopla. Bloomberg isn't going to gain any traction.

3. With the EC, it's nearly impossible for a third party candidate to win.
I know a lot of people think it's probable, but I just don't see how it works with the electoral college. Bloomberg might take a few states, but I don't see him taking enough to reach the 270 needed. If anything, I see it splitting the electoral college between the Democrat, Republican and third party candidate, thus sending it to congress and most likely resulting in either a Democrat or Republican president.
