Do republicans throw more red meat to their base?
Seems to me like this very well might be the case.

I was just wondering how much bearing that might have on how likely conservative voters are to stay unified and supportive of their candidates.

What do you think? Do we on the left get less red meat? Seems to me like we sure do get less... and if so, perhaps that might have something to do with the willingness / unwillingness to back the nominee no matter what.

1. Yes. Them Democratic "Strategy", if you can call it that, has seemed to involve not just ignoring
the base, but deliberately going out of our way to alienate it.

4. I see lots of complaints
about how weak support is...

Perhaps the leadership should take this issue into consideration, if they hope for that to change.

3. yep, I would agree
I don't remember Clinton ever giving much of anything to progressives that I would call 'meat'. I remember him placating many whiny rethugs, though. :grr:

10. *sigh*
I didn't mean to go down this road... I completely agree and could go on and on (and on)... but... mainly I just wanted to find out if anyone else thought that perhaps congress could do a bit more to at least appear to be addressing our concerns before too much time passes.

15. I was meaning more talking... red meat stances on issues...
like the bloated defense budget.

Nobody talks about cutting it. We only hear them talk about spending MORE.

Well... not all of them. :)

16. I can understand that.
I believe with more and more people getting information from the internet that it will move in the direction you want to see.

There were some big cuts in defense programs and bases in the 90's of course. And I still think there is a big difference between the two parties on this issue. One wants the big weapons programs and screw the soldiers and the other wants some big weapons and a little more help to the service men and women. It is a tough issue to get agreement on though. later.
