More Measures on Stem Cells Expected

By LAURIE KELLMAN
The Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- President Bush hasn't seen the last of
legislation to allow federal funding for new embryonic stem
cell research.

Supporters are answering his veto with an effort Thursday
to add to an appropriations bill permission to use taxpayer
dollars for new lines of embryonic stem cells.

Democratic congressional leaders are expected to bring back
the bill and try to override Bush's veto _ or just give the
issue more air time. Neither chamber has the two-thirds
majority to succeed.

In the longer term, the stem cell issue will dog any candidate
who sides with Bush, supporters of the legislation say.

... any of the MSM networks give any of the Democrats a chance to respond??

I did hear Ron Reagan on Hardball talking about how devastating it was... and how Bush was catering to only a tiny segment of the American population; that it was a heartless, arrogant move and that he (Bush) seems to have no clue how that s/cells are trashed daily in fertility clinics and how many lives he'd have the potential of giving help to with this research.

But I couldn't stick around and I was wondering if any of the Democrats in Congress held a press conference or had any air time?? I hope so!

I love Ron Reagan.. but I wish for once he would talk about how his mom feels about these Vetoes.

If you take a look at the MSNBC transcript of the Republican Debate held on May 3rd at the Reagan Library, Chris Matthews was too chicken shit to ask any of them about stem cell research. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18478985/page/23/

Maybe he didn't want to put them on the spot in front of Nancy Reagan? But he let them off easy by not asking them about it!!!
