The plain truth of the matter is that when it's time to pull the lever on election day,
and joe middle america voter who is a bit nervous will not vote for a candidate with the name "Bloomberg"

Period.

Ain't gonna happen. Wish it wasn't so, but what happens in NYC, stays in NYC.

1. you'd be amazed at what 500 million dollars will do.... but I still agree
Party loyalty runs a little deeper than even the most expensive ad campaign.

3. If that's the issue, I've some free advice for the candidate
Asian guy walks down the street.

All of the sudden, out of the blue, some thug comes along and decks the Asian guy and says "That's for Pearl Harbor!"

Asian guy, stunned, says, "...the hell? Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese! I'm Chinese!"

Thug says, "Chinese, Japanese, what's the difference?

Asian guy gets up, dusts himself off. Walks along, and suddenly, out of the blue, smacks the Mayor of New York City and says, "That's for sinking the Titanic!"

Mayor says, "...the hell? The Titanic sunk when it hit an iceberg!"

Asian guy says, "Iceberg, Bloomberg, what's the difference?"

My suggestion to Michael--tell this terrible, ancient joke early and often.
Better yet, don't. I don't really want him to run. If he runs, he'll siphon off Democratic votes and get us another Republican President.

But if Michale must run, and wants to have a shot at winning? tell the joke.

4. I honestly think many people misjudge us in the middle west.
I am not a bloomberg backer but, I do think people see us as being much more backwards than we really are.
If my state of Illinois, cornbelt farm state, would vote for a man with the name Obama, then why do you think we wouldn't vote for someone with the name bloomberg

5. Thank you.
We are not ALL rubes out here. Most of the farmers that I know are far more sophisticated in their thinking than many of my acquaintances in the city. Gotta do something while riding in the tractor all day :). Those that are not tuned to RW talk shows spend a lot of time mulling things over.
