This date in ronald reagan history
21 Jun 87 - He said "tear down this wall." And the right wing orgasm has yet to cease. Rational human beings know reagan had nothing to do with the downfall of the USSR but when you are limbaugh trained you'll swallow anything. But I think there is a more important 21 June in reagan's history.

21 Jun 64 - Three civil rights workers disappeared in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Their bodies were found six weeks later buried in an earthen dam. Eight members of the Ku Klux Klan went to prison on federal conspiracy charges. None served more then six year. reagan announced to the world that he was running for president in Philadelphia, Mississippi. First priority, secure the peckerwood klan vote. Yes, 21 Jun 1964 is much more telling about ronald reagan then his blathering on in Berlin.

1. I always thought there had to be a reason why he picked THAT PLACE to
make that announcement. You'll often hear analysts talking about the "code words" the Dear Leader will use in his public statements for the benefit of his true believer followers. It is rather tempting to suppose this is what was at work here, too.

3. Reagan's speech that day in Philadelphia Mississippi ...
Edited on Thu Jun-21-07 11:00 AM by Jim__
... was, at least partially, on states rights. "States rights" was the argument used by many states to justify state segregation laws. Reagan, of course, came out in strong favor of states rights.

5. Exactly. He told them they should fight the federal government, and everyone knew
that the issue the South was fighting over was desegregation, and that Philadelphia was the home of the ultimate "protest" against Civil Rights. I almost hope there is a Hell, just so that filthy animal can burn for all eternity in it. Sorry to all filthy animals out there for the insult.

Thanks for the post...I had never heard that before. Explains the undying devotion.

Edit to add link to an interesting article I found about Scumbags Reagan and Lott.
