On impeachment and faustian choices

The Dems are in a bind. I will tell you why

Like most Muricans they remember what the Impeachment of Clinton did to the wingnuts (they did loose some seats folks... since people were disgusted) So their frame of reference to what an impeachment will do is a very political impeachment that the Murican people did not quite particularly approve off. So... they are afraid of the same result (and yes the arguments of we don't have votes in the senate is correct to a point)

Yet, the American people increasingly want it. And I will argue that if the Dems do not push for it, they will pay a price. Now if they do it, '76 is the correct frame of reference, there was a bumper crop of Democrats in '76. But if they don't pull the trigger they will pay a huge price.

Why?

The war is very popular NOT

And people have woken up to the fact that Bush lied the country in order to take the coutry to war.

Yes, they sill have the media to deal with, and the media has the ability to make Bush seem like Joan of Arc persuaded and driven out of office for no reason... (I'm not sure the people will buy it, but to quote George, you've got to catapult the propaganda)

So, they have a faustian choice to make...

Go ahead and pull a '74 and hope against hope that the facts will emerge and Pubbies will pull a '74... Bush or my job.

Or not do it, and still pay a price, and perhaps the price will be control of both the House and the Senate.

In my view, they will pay a higher price if they seem to seat there and tacitly approve what has happened (it does not matter they do nor not, their votes and catapulting the propaganda...) So here is why, if you want a political reason, Impeachment must go back on the table

Now there is plenty on the COnstitutional side and high crimes, but I came to the conclussion that the Democratic leadership is taking a gun, loading it,cocking it and taking aim at their foot. Lets see how many toes they manage to blow off, metaphorically speaking of course. (And the vote to fund, they now own the war in the eyes of the people who voted to CHANGE the policy, not to cave... and caving is exactly the impression people have now)
