Trent Lott - "Talk radio is running America" - says it's bad for GOP
Well boo fucking hoo, bozo. Hate radio has helped you and your brain-dead "constituency" run this once-great republic into the ground for the last 12 years, including ramming into the white house the stupidest, most corrupt, most incompetent loser ever to hold office. Now you're pissed at them? God, I hate these people

1. Well, he's right about one thing
Hate Speech Radio does seem to be running America. It's only a problem for the GOP when they're in the crosshairs. The idea of millions of brown-skinned immigrants becoming legal infuriates the neocons to no end, and they're letting everyone know about it.

All of these hate-spewing talk shows should be shut down.

3. read about Julius Streicher
and see where hate radio could lead:

Julius Streicher (February 12, 1885 – October 16, 1946) was a prominent Nazi prior to and during World War II. He was the publisher of the Nazi Der Stürmer newspaper, which was to become a part of the Nazi propaganda machine. His publishing firm released three anti-Semitic books for children, including the 1938 Der Giftpilz (The Poison Mushroom), one of the most widespread pieces of propaganda, which purported to warn about insidious dangers Jews posed by using the metaphor of an attractive yet deadly mushroom. After the war, he was convicted of crimes against humanity and executed.

While he did not directly order the execution of any Jews, he was found guilty of creating an environment where the holocaust became acceptable. Eventually, talk becomes action.

2. Too bad Saint Ronnie of Reagan wrecked the Fairness Doctrine, huh Trent?
Even the intellectually challenged have started to realize today's Republicans care about the interests of rich people and the corporations that they own - and nothing else. Too bad nobody's buying Trent's snake oil any more.

:nopity:

And he wears an ugly wig too.

4. He was happy enough when it was talking the Rethugs' language
Edited on Thu Jun-21-07 09:44 PM by rocknation
Or perhaps I should say, "when it was talking the Rethugs' language successfully."

The Rethug base has dutifully swallowed a lot over the years, but I guess this wage-depressing, American job-robbing, illegal immigration-increasing bill is where even they have to draw the line in terms of acting against their own interests. But their refusal to buy doesn't mean that the right-wing media isn't doing a good enough job of selling. Maybe it's THE BILL that's the problem, Trent--the worst thing you can do for a bad product is good advertising.

Talk about shooting the messenger. Cue the DU "Cry Me A River" String Quartet!

7. No, he's talking only about the immigration bill
I guess hate radio all want to "round 'em up and shoot 'em", and helmet-head tinks this will hurt the GOP next fall.

On the other issues I'm sure he LOVES Wiener and Ingram and Rush and G and Sean and Andy and Gallagher and Ollie and all the rest.
