My handwritten letter to Al Gore
Dear Mr. Gore:

I voted for you in 2000. I知 afraid I let you down.

As the last seven years have unfolded, I致e watched in horror and disbelief as the honor, traditions, laws, moral authority, international standing, and Constitution of our great land have been abused, ignored, violated, shredded, decimated and circumvented. I知 afraid I let the Republic down.

I知 asking for a second chance.

I知 asking that you please run for President in 2008.

I apologize for asking you to endure such a burden. I might as well ask you to agree to run a marathon every day for the next year and half while carrying a 5,000 pound weight on your back. Unfortunately, as I see the terrible mess our country is in and as I survey the field of candidates, I see no one who instills in me the utmost confidence that they can right the ship of state and steer us clear of the rocky shore for which we are headed. Only you, sir, have the tools, knowledge, working history, command of issues, and frankly the courage to assume leadership at this crucial time in our history.

During times of crisis great men step forward and answer the call. You are a great man. This is the time. I ask that you lead us.

I知 asking for a second chance.

I have never been a donor or a volunteer. I have always been passive in the process. Not this time. I will donate to your cause. I will volunteer for your campaign. I will knock on doors. I will make phone calls. I will stuff envelopes. I will do whatever is within my power to assist you in leading our country out of darkness and into the light.

I知 asking for a second chance.
Please run for President.
Our country needs you.

6. Draft Gore campaign
I'm leery of sending money until he actually enters the race. But the second (if) he does, I will donate my time and my money.

Thank you for the kind words.

15. McLaughlin of the McLaughlin group feels Gore will run
Not only that he will run but that he will be the strongest candidate. Do you realize what a fiasco it would be if Bloomberg,
Giuliani and Hillary Clinton runs, we would have 3 candidates running from NY. As 2004 was all about Vietnam, the Rove machine would have a two fer, Paula Jones/Monica scandal and 9-11, 9-11, 9-11 all over again. I really want an election based on the present and not the embers of past history.

He is running now by not running..... He is changing the face of how to run a successful campaign in today's day and age. I am waiting for him to announce and then it is all steam ahead.

I've actually sent (some) money to Dodd and Kucinich.

But I make no secret that I will reserve first preference for Gore until the day I punch holes in my primary ballot.

4. How about post cards?
Almost everyone lives in a place where out-of-towner's buy postcards to send home.

Post cards are cheap, colorful, cheaper to send, and you don't need as much postage to send them.

They also illustrate all the different places the cards are coming from, without the

burden of one person having to open & read them all. (not to mention saving the trees that provide

envelopes for letters).

Send a post card with a quick message to:

Honorable Al Gore
2100 West End Avenue, Suite 620
Nashville, TN 37203

Maybe a second postcard for Tipper, we're going to need her help too!

This is Al Gore answering the call for our planet and leading. Also, attending or watching Live Earth is a great way to show him you not only support him, but more importantly the moral conscience this is all meant to awaken in all Americans.

him, we cannot let him down again. When I remember all those pug aides attacking the people recounting the votes and remember that I did not get on a plane and fly down there to help Gore, I cringe in dissatisfaction with myself. Never again can we do that.

The wisdom of Yoda is applicable in all times.

You want to engage in a serious discussion of why Hillary would "cut hm to pieces" I'm all ears.

Otherwise, I will continue to spout Yoda-isms and be content.

Edited on Mon Jun-25-07 08:44 AM by SoonerPride
You make an absurd blanket statement and then don't have the backbone to justify that position?

I'm willing to engage you on the point.

Al Gore is a savvy, seasoned, experienced veteran. I think he is more than capable of tilting swords with anyone, anywhere.

33. Clinton's Iraq War Authorization is enough for her to lose nomimation
Her hawkish stance on letting the imperial presidency carry out a war on lies is enough for her to lose the party nomination.

Al Gore's record on the environment in unassailable. You say he's "lost it" whwn I say he's been right for the last 30 years and is right again.

Clinton has way too much baggage.

Gore would decimate her in a war of ideas.

She stands for nothing as much as which way the wind is blowing on any given day.

Gore has steadfastly clung to his ideas even when they were ridiculed and unpopular.

Clinton carries the tag as favorite now because Obama doean't have enough experience to persuade some that he can lead effectively. Gore has more experience in his little finger than Clinton does.

Gore would be a formidable opponent.
