Rahm Emanuel threatening to cut off Darth Cheney's money...
Edited on Sat Jun-23-07 03:02 PM by SaveElmer
Since CHeney does not consider himself a member of the executive branch, Emanuel has submitted an amendment to cut off funding for his offie as a part of executive branch appropriations...

Washington, D.C. House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel issued the following statement regarding his amendment to cut funding for the Office of the Vice President from the bill that funds the executive branch. The legislation -- the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations bill -- will be considered on the floor of the House of Representatives next week.

"The Vice President has a choice to make. If he believes his legal case, his office has no business being funded as part of the executive branch. However, if he demands executive branch funding he cannot ignore executive branch rules. At the very least, the Vice President should be consistent. This amendment will ensure that the Vice President's funding is consistent with his legal arguments. I have worked closely with my colleagues on this amendment and will continue to pursue this measure in the coming days."

2. Let Emanuel support the impeachment resolution against Cheney.
Or at least aggressively holding hearings.

Then I'll be impressed with him.

3. He should be required to pay back what he *unlawfully* accepted in the past.

It just goes along with his own argument. If he wasn't in the Executive branch then he should not have been budgeted as a part of it.

11. Thanks, Rahm..
Don't forget to let Cheney know, we want him out of the VP residence (change the locks), a refund on salary paid to date, and removal of all the percs including AF2, and let fat ass find his own transportation from now on.. All Senate Tie Breakers are null and void? (means Gore should have been Prez?)

This may be a "fatal error" on Cheney's part. Does he think he's enjoying a cabinet position?

I didn't see a link to Cheney's assertion of how he is employed.
