Tabling today and a mystifying encounter with Clinton workers. |
|
As some here know, I man a lit table in Keene NH every Saturday. We are asking people to sign a card to our new Congressman, Paul Hodes, as well as one to Nancy Pelosi, asking them to support the withdrawal of troops for Iraq. The card also allows people to write in where they'd like to see the $8B a month spent on the war to go. We have large signs at the table describing this so there is no question what we're asking for.
Along come a group of folks who are in Hillary for President T-shirts and carrying a lot of Clinton campaign literature. Actually, I think it was a Clinton canvassing day today in my area. As they passed the table, we asked if they wanted to sign the cards and they refused saying they were working for Hillary. They were pretty snotty about it. Now, I'm not supporting her in the Primary but will vote for her if she is the nominee, and I just don't understand this kind of a reaction.

1. Were they, perhaps, afraid |
|
that they would be photographed with their Hillary gear and get into trouble, since Mrs. Clinton might not agree with your petition? That's the only reason I could think of--unless they aren't for withdrawing the troops. Either way, they could have simply smiled, nodded, and been noncommittal or said "I'll do it later" or some other diplomatic phrase.
PS-I'm for Kucinich myself, and if I were in Keene, I'd sign and help you man the table!

2. Perhaps they were space aliens |

I have it on good word that Hillary is laying the ground work for a Martian invasion and that her army of pod people are snotty and stuff.

anything else they can dis her for....and she didn't do it, the people who were campaigning did. So what's the big deal. Look what Obama's people did and do you hold him responsible for that.

There wasn't a single anti-Hillary thing, just a recounting of an experience with Hillary supporters.
It's good to retract your claws once in a while.
