Clark on closing Guantanamo (transcript& video) from Scarborough appearance
Edited on Sun Jun-24-07 08:15 AM by The Count
Clark: But I think the
evidence that's come out, at least in the public so far, is (clears
throat) that we've, we've basically moved beyond the bound of what is
considered permissible under the code of the Geneva Convention and under
what U.S. troops and U.S. personnel would normally do. (clears throat) How
far we've gone, we don't know. We don't, we know that some of the
memoranda have been pretty outrageous - saying that torture doesn't occur
until it's the pain equivalent a major organ loss, which was one
definition propounded by the government at one point and apparently
retracted."

1. Scarborough: "Thank God, THANK GOD, MSNBC got General Wesley Clark...
on their side. He's going to tell us what's really going on. General!"

2. I was astonished, truly
How nice he was to Wes. Maybe I don't know something about Joe Scarborough, but I expected something different even if just a coolness. I am so happy at the reception the station is giving the General overall. God bless Wes for the two years he put into Fox for the Democratic Party, but hallelujah it's over!!

4. Scarborough supported Wes during Kosovo
One of the few republicans willing to make that commitment. Also, he's been polite in the past, although he would then have guests on following Clark who would twist the facts.

The interview is coherent and exactly right, especially considering that it was done at 6 a.m.

Wes Clark makes it easy to support him.

7. Clark gets it right again.

Close it up and transfer authority to an international organization that will prevent further atrocities and that will commit to fair hearings. Justice.

Wow, Scarborough was a surprise though. I'm sorry I missed it.

9. If Clark isn't going to be on the ticket next Nov.
maybe he could replace Scarborough on the spot following Keith on MSNBC.

10. Sometimes I pick up a few minutes of Joe after Keith, when I fail to
change channels asap and he is often anti-war and Bush. Of course the word is going to be out to be pro-Clark since he has now joined their company.
