ATL: US Social Justice Forum June 27-July 1
https://www.ussf2007.org/en/about

'The US Social Forum is more than a conference, more than a networking bonanza, more than a reaction to war and repression. The USSF will provide space to build relationships, learn from each other's experiences, share our analysis of the problems our communities face, and bring renewed insight and inspiration. It will help develop leadership and develop consciousness, vision, and strategy needed to realize another world.

The USSF sends a message to other people’s movements around the world that there is an active movement in the US opposing US Policies at home and abroad.

We must declare what we want our world to look like and begin planning the path to get there. A global movement is rising. The USSF is our opportunity to demonstrate to the world Another World is Possible!....'

Any DUers planning on attending?

1. I am!
This is a very important event. If you have any way of getting there, do it!

There are somewhere around 1,000 workshops being offered over three days of the five-day workshop. There's a march on the first day. Lots of cultural events, too. And tabling by all kinds of progressive organizations. Between 10,000 and 20,000 people are expected to attend!

The Land Trust it abutts is a very nice place.

There are so many events and seminars planned that it is hard to choose which to attend.

3. Here's how to search for workshops on a specific topic:
Click on this link.

Use the drop-down list to choose a keyword to search. You'll get a list of workshops in that category. Click on the workshop title for a full description plus the time and place of the workshop.

For example, here's a list of all the workshops in the category democracy and politics.

5. I guess out of 105,071 members, DU could just spare two of us
to go to this historic event.

6. Maybe they will hear about us in the news.
One of the local papers described the attendees like this: (read:experienced protestors.)

There are some rumblings going around that sonny and company are not very happy with this forum. It would not surprise me if they tried to stir up some shit in an attempt to discredit the event.

7. That was a mystery post

The description didn't come through.

It took me a minute to realize who "Sonny and company" are. I'm guessing that's because I don't live in GA. I'm coming all the way from the west coast!
