TV reporter who supported candidate is out
Source: MSNBC

The TV reporter in Omaha who posted a photo of herself on Facebook.com with a congressional candidate, urging her friends to vote for him, is no longer working at the station.

Also out: an editorial cartoonist who said he didn't "give a rat's ass" about his newspaper's policy on campaign contributions by journalists.

And one newspaper has dropped the syndicated column "The Ethicist" by New York Times writer Randy Cohen because of his donation to MoveOn.org, which he said he had thought of as "nonpartisan."

1. Stupid, stupid, stupid
Listen guys, the way to do it properly is to write glowing reports about your favorite candidate.

THEN, you make the most outrageous statements about the candidate's opponent - with a question mark after it.

F'r instance: "Did Congressman X REALLY get caught with his pants down in a Kindergarten classroom? The reports are inconclusive..."

2. It does seem that reporters who are giving to Democratic candidates are
getting a real asskicking by employers.

The Collins woman, despite also giving a Republican candidate a substantially higher donation, gets booted because she has a picture of herself with a Democratic candidate. And she did work for a Fox affiliate - no real surprise she got bumped for the Democratic contribution there.

The msnbc list seems to have far more contributions to Democrats. I have to ask, is it because more are giving to the Democrats - or perhaps msnbc wasn't looking very hard for republican contributions?

3. The sibling incest contingent at Freak Rethuglic runs the TV industry now
These stations and newspapers acted illegally when they fired their reporters for donating to candidates. It's not like they went on TV and actually supported them on the air (which is what the stations around here do for Republicans).

I guarantee that if I lived in Omaha, I would be picketing that station, and be on the FCC like stink on shit until it got its license revoked.

4. There were Radio Talkers mostly from the Right who
stated they had supported candidates. Naturally, they supported
Republicans.

Local Broadcast staions(having lived in several states--I am not
identifying where---They will tell their employees that it is
in the best interest of the business to vote Republican.

Certain Clothiers includidng famous lingerie brand does the same.

Businesses are making this more and more a practice.

Journalists do not give up their citizenship just to become
a journalist. Right or Left.
