The My Pet Goat Baby Club
Edited on Tue Jun-26-07 07:52 AM by IanDB1
I am thinking of staring a new club, called "The My Pet Goat Baby Club."

You see, my daughter's birthday is June 11, 2002.

She was conceived on the days immediately following September 11th.

My wife's company here in Boston was closed for a few days after September 11th, so we had a few extra days alone at home.

During that time, we conceived our child.

So, because Bush sat reading "The Pet Goat" and playing with school kids while planes made u-turns in the skies for four hours, we now have a daughter.

I've been thinking, wouldn't it be great to start a club for parents who conceived their children around "My Pet Goat Day?"

And we could make t-shirts that say, "I'm a My Pet Goat Baby," and "My Child is a My Pet Goat Baby." And of course, the shirts would have this picure:

And by the way, that's what we should call "September The 11th" from now on.

We should call it "My Pet Goat Day."

The Pet Goat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The Pet Goat" (erroneously known as "My Pet Goat") is a children's story contained in the book Reading Mastery II: Storybook 1, by Siegfried Engelmann and Elaine C. Bruner (ISBN 0-02-686355-3). The book is part of the thirty-one volume Reading Mastery series published by the SRA Macmillan early-childhood education division of McGraw-Hill. It uses the direct instruction teaching style.

The story gained notoriety because U.S. President George W. Bush was reading it with Sarasota, Florida schoolchildren in Emma E. Booker Elementary School at the time at which then-White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card informed him of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
