From now thru the 08 election: there are NO good Repubs. They're ALL connected.
Even if Cheney gets retired after his upcoming heart surgery, even if Bush's polls go to 2% and even Barney and Laura turn on his sorry ass, do not utter one damned kind word toward any Republic. Lugar's statement last night being a prime case in point. His action is what I call showvoting. He was all OVER everything Bush and the greatest bone burier in the history of Congress. He was RIGHT THERE every step of the way with Cheney and Bush. His most used ability was his skilled wielding of the rubber stamp.

But this thread is not about Lugar. It is about EVERY Republic who decides now to turn on Gin Blossom George or The Dick. These opportunists deserve not ONE word of praise and not one iota of credit for changing their views now.

Tie them all together.

They were an active part of it or they were enablers. They were NEVER neutral and they were NEVER hesitant to support Gin Blossom George and The Dick.

There are NO good Republicans right now.

NOT ONE.

Ignoring their seeming transmogrification is simply not enough. Call them out on it at every opportunity. Call them on their past record and ask direct questions regarding their newfound 'religion'.

Tie them all together.

There and NO good Republicans.

2. I agree wholeheartedly!
Another important caveat: "Bipartisanship" is ALWAYS a trap with these people, too... Goes only one way and we know which way that is! Resist those who preach it, practice it, or demand it... even if they are Democrats.

And, once again, repeat with me, along with Hubby:

There and NO good Republicans.

There and NO good Republicans.

There and NO good Republicans.

There and NO good Republicans.

3. Recommend! transmogrification =
Edited on Tue Jun-26-07 07:54 PM by babylonsister
To change into a different shape or form, especially one that is fantastic or bizarre.

Go, Stinky! I agree; they think nothing of the situation they've help put our country in, and all about their political futures. They all have blood on their stinking rethug hands, too!

5. I think Ron Paul, Gordon Smith, Chuck Hagel, Walter Jones, and that Gilchrest guy (Maryland)
are good Republicans. They spoke up early, at the risk of their careers, and voted at least SOME of the time when we needed them. But those are it. Even if the rest of the R's "get it" now, they can all burn in hell, as far as I'm concerned--too late, fuckers.

10. Paul
Ron Paul has been opposing the Iraq war since 1998.

He's actively and vocally opposed every one of the neocons civil rights abuses.

There are a handful of others who're decent too, most of them are members of the Republican Liberty Caucus.

Other than those guys though I understand OPs point, realizing the political reality of continuing to support this administration this late in the game is not praiseworthy.

11. Ron Paul is a punchline
Edited on Thu Jun-28-07 04:09 PM by WileEcoyote
Like his so-called "Libertarian party" his own joke really. He caucases with the GOP. OK so now how does a person within the ranks of the GOP do anything positive? Answer: On a legislative level he can't.

Can you imagine Congressman Duncan Hunter thinking: "Oh shit Ron Paul opposes my plane that won't fly. Whatever will i do"?

Won't happen.

Paul is playing the maverick role that Senator John McCain tried to do only with a bit more enthusiasm. All that can be said about paul is that he gets a trifle bit of media attention in a way that is helpful to ending the war. Not much notice but a tad.

Beyond the war his ideology plays right into the hands of the most greedy sadistic money grubbers within the GOP ranks,

6. Exactly, Sir: There Are NO Good Republicans
Whether the office is town clerk or President, every Republican is part of the machine that empowers the worst reactionary elements of our polity, and must be regarded as such.

"A good Republican is as impossible as an honest burglar."

"Even in this world of sorrows, there remain yet things to be thankful for: for myself, I give thanks I am not a Republican."

9. There actually is such a thing as a "moderate Republican"...
The DLC is full of them, and represents that faction well. Yes, they are now registered as Democrats, but their tenets and issues are the same as those the moderate Republicans used to support when there was still a place for them in that Party.
