Raising money as a candidate is the toughest job they do... |
|
It's not easy calling people and asking them for money, especially those you do not even know...
However, doing that task proves to people, especially those who track candidates fund-raising ability's, that you are confident in your program, able to persuade donations and also show that you are not afraid to ask for what you want...
Raising money sucks, I have done it several times for me as well as other candidates...
People also want to see where your money comes from...
If you are only getting cash from friends and relatives, that show other potential donors that you can't break out into the world outside of your small circle of Friends and relatives...
In other words, people who "invest" in a campaign want to see if you have wide appeal, can tap into the public at large...
I know it sucks that we have to raise money, and I want to reiterate that it ain't fun...
But it is a part of modern campaigns and so yes, money and the size of your pile of cash truly does matter...

2. Well...with the Clean Money people... |
|
Once you've raised the "seed" money, and have qualified for the State money...
Then you're free of this having to ask strangers for donations...
And you can talk about the issues.......
And plus, you're not beholden to the special interests who do so much of the campaign financing these days...
I really believe that this sort of campaign financing is the wave of the future...
It's way past time for the public to take back their candidates from the huge influence of special interests...
Whoever finances the candidates owns those candidates...
And then they don't represent we the people anymore...
Just my two cents...

3. Let's not overstate this |
|
This may be the toughest job they do, but its by no means a rotten deal for them. There are a lot of people who'd prefer to have that 'tough' job.
