Maybe I'm nuts, but didn't.... |

Maybe I'm nuts, but didn't Paris Hilton go in to jail the day Scooter Libby was sentenced to 30 months in Federal Prison, and get out of jail the day Stephen J. Griles was sentenced to 10 months in Federal Prison?
Oddly coincidental, dontcha think? Funny how a billionaire heiress was able to distract the news media from covering actual news....twice.

If I ask twenty people in my office who Scooter Libby is, they'll have no idea. Ditto for Griles. But everyone knows who Paris Hilton is.
Sadly, the "distraction" has been in place for a long time, and people are highly skilled at anesthetizing their brains. The coincidence of sentencing dates is frustrating, but I don't think you should read anything into it.

3. Perhaps you have a point, but the timing is supremely fortuitous for certain people. |

I hear you, though - there's a guy in my office that informed me yesterday that he'd never heard of Darfur, and asked me what it was, because he saw the title of the Lennon tribute album that's out now (Instant Karma/Save Darfur). I was flabbergasted.

2. Well, the way things are going they'd be hard pressed to find a |

day to jail or release her that DIDN'T coincide with some republican or * crony being indicted or jailed.
