Plutocracy run amok - America for sale
America currently is a plutocracy - no doubt about it. We have elected representatives who act in their own and their family's future self-interest.

Why do so many enter politics with modest estates and leave with great wealth? The simple and obvious answer is the correct answer. They sold their votes and their views to enrich themselves with side deals or to employ their husbands, wives, sons or daughters in positions in firms that are affected by their votes. They leave their Congressional or Senate positions to become paid lobbyists or executives within the industries they formerly regulated. It's like Amway for the rich and connected.

And we poor schmucks at the bottom think our vote is important.

Paris Hilton is your next Under-Secretary of the Interior. Or someone very Paris Hiltonish, only without the bad PR. Just like Brownie - the Arabian Horse lawyer-guy. Hey - he'd make a great FEMA head wouldn't he?

And of course, now we are getting the greatest hybrid of all - Plutocracy meets Theocracy - Theoplutocracy where wealth and religiosity unite - best example being our very own George W. Bush. That's working out really well, too.
