I think we should focus on veto-proof Senate and House majorities. Let the next prez take on the mess the current one will leave behind. For those one don't recall, look at Jimmy Carter. He inherited the debt from Viet Nam, the failing economy because of those war years, the oil embargo, etc. He could do little to give hope to the country and control the inflation. He's labeled a 'failed president' by many.

Let the GOP have the White House in 2008. It will take a minimum of 50 years to regain what's be f**ked up by the neo-cons, if it can be salvaged at all.

3. So, what, then, we all ignore Bloomberg's pesky 'free speech' and demonstrations attitude, and vote
for him because he's on the correct page vis a vis social programs???

doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning, well yes, I tend to agree with you. :hi:

5. It would be interesting if the Democrats supported a non-party candidate.
I don't see that happening, but it'd be interesting to see a "national unity" candidate supported by the Democrats; of course, it would have to be a progressive.

7. I have to admit...A part of me would like to punish all the idiots that..
...voted for the Repugs in the first place.
..except in my little fantasy, we Democrats vote for the most ignorant, mean, uneducated
Republicans we can find.

(and then I come back to earth)

8. I tend to agree, too. Concentrate on Congress
and let a Republican clean up the God awful mess Bush has created. He still has another year and a half to complete the Supreme Court line up, too.

11. If a little bickering between candidates puts you off,
then you aren't much of a Democrat. I find a good solid debate of the issues refreshing & informative.
