Let's talk . . . nicely

Tonight John and I are having House Parties for Change across the country. I just got off the call with the East Coast conference call -- it was so energetic. Later tonight John and I will do the West Coast conference call later, but I had some time in between to talk to you all. Or as we say, y'all. So, what's on your mind?

4. OMG.. We Really Really Need ACTIVISM! The Malaise I'm Seeing
lately is nothing more than MOROSE!! I can't put it into words, but simply talking with people it's so pervasive. So many times these days I feel like an Army Of One! I try so very hard to get people involved, but NOBODY wants to get off the dime. I THOUGHT I had group of people who were willing to join me in Tampa tomorrow night at a grassroots fund-raiser for John Edwards and today THREE (3) of them backed out! I've already paid for tickets so it's not a complete loss because it gives money to his campaign, but as hard as I try to keep others involved I get SMACKED down by this kind of stuff! It's IMPORTANT to SHOW UP!! I'm so pissed off because these people who committed earlier have decided that "personal problems" such as DEPRESSION have created an inability to take any kind of action! They have decided that NOTHING they do will make any difference. And I really can't argue with them. "We The People" have been so diminished and I feel like I'm climbing a mountain!!!

What we are facing as a NATION simply isn't registering and I'm beginning to feel like nothing more than some sort of shill, and find that too many people think I'm a Nut-Job for even TRYING!

I feel so very hopeless and wonder why and HOW these people who bare their souls for the greater good have the fortitude to continue on. So many attacks are contently being lobbed and to me it's mind-boggling because I feel so very ALONE!!

My heart says we must fight on, but REALITY tells me that I'm "the fool!"

5. you're not alone, ChiciB1
please hang in there. I am sorry that your friends backed out. I agree with you that I don't know how people like JRE and EE have the courage, stamina and overall goodness to put themselves out there and work so hard for everyone, but they are doing it. The tide is turning, even though sometimes it doesn't seem that way.

6. Thanks For Listening... It Gets To Us Sometime!
My granddaughter called me today and asked if she could go with me tomorrow and it made me feel good that my "voice" has been touching her!

I had taken her to the March On The Pentagon back in March and we had a "super" time and even though she says she isn't an activist, she sticks close to me. She just turned 12! We have failed in teaching enough people about LIFE!
