I turned to the LTTE page this morning and saw this little charmer:
Talk radio balances out liberal media

While I admit that most of talk radio has a definite right-wing slant (Page 1F, June 27), I feel that it is the only balance for the rest of the media, which are definitely left-leaning. Most of the newspapers, including the Mercury News, Chronicle, L.A. Times, N.Y. Times, etc., are liberal as well as the news magazines such as Time, Newsweek and People. All the TV News channels, both cable and local, with the exception of Fox News, lean to the left. People criticize Fox news for being right-slanted, but in its defense I will say that by and large they do usually present commentators from both sides. It is the only channel on which you can even see/hear the view from the right. In view of this, I think it totally unfair to try to silence or restrict talk radio.

This kinda assinine comment can't be allowed to stand with no rebuttal. I'd reply to it myself, but I can't get beyond the 4-letter words in my head. And so many of you are so much more talented than me. If any of you ae so inspired, please...

1. My one comment to people
who continue that stupid liberal media line. If there was a liberal media on TV I would be watching it, as it is I can't stand any of it.

2. I challenge people who claim TV is liberal
to actually NAME the liberals on TV - they can hardly think of any, whereas I can non-stop yak the names of the rightwing nutjobs on TV. I agree with you MuseRider - I quit watching TV news because the bias is is overwhelmingly to the right - if it were to the left, there is no way that incompetent piece of shit would ever have even been considered a viable candidate for president and way, WAY more questions would have been asked in the lead up to the war.

3. HEY Skittles!
Nice to see you! :hi:

I really don't want it to be liberal either, I just want the news and I can make up my own mind and I seem to remember a long time ago that other people resented others trying to tell them what to think. Not any more apparently.

You are absolutely right about the incompetent piece of shit. I am really interested to see how this is done this election season with the public seeming to be less likely to buy the bullshit. (I hope)

4. Once they're past Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (who are not on
TV regularly, if at all any more), their brains are used up ... they can't name one regular liberal talking head on any of the networks or cable "news" channels ...

6. Heck, that's easy
"There's Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. Chris Matthews is totally liberal. Joe Scarborough? A couple of conservative viewpoints, but mostly liberal. Glenn Beck is so far out in left field, he almost looks rightish, but he's a liberal, too."

See? As long as you're not sweating the facts, you can say any stupid thing you want, and there will be folks who will nod like a bobblehead, "Yeah yuh. All of 'em are libruls."
