15. Bill Clinton himself made the comment he should have done more about terrorism you
don't have to a rocket scientist, grant it he got Ramsey Yousef mastermind of the first wtc attack but that was it. Another tidbit of Bill info, when he asked why he had his "escapades" in the oval office his reply; (after a BRIEF SIENCE) "PROBABLY BECAUSE I KNEW I COULD GET AWAY WITH IT"

23. Many liberals believe Bill's protection of Poppy Bush was a HUGE mistake
that bolstered the terror networks that other Dems had spent years working to expose.

5. What problems? Bill Clinton went after Osama Bin Laden...
And the Sudanese government wouldn't hand him over. In contrast, Bush gave $40 million to the Taliban before 9/11 to "fight the war on drugs".

11. Bill Handled Terrorism Just Fine
Under Clinton, they blew up the parking garage -- and got caught.
Under Bush**/Cheney, they brought down the whole WTC.

20. That they did so little damage was lucky,
It turned out they placed the truck under the most structurally secure spot in the complex.

3. Disagree - Gore, Kerry, Gary Hart, would all be better presidents than Bill because
they could all do the job PLUS would do something Bill refused to do - hold BushInc accountable for the many crimes of office they have committed and that have come back to hurt this country and world in immeasurable ways.

Too few Democrats understand this nation's most basic concept: TRUTH MATTERS

8. Obama is saying the only thing that can fully prepare one for the Presidency is being President
and implicitly pointing out that Hillary Clinton was not President. I think it shows a great deal of understanding to say that nobody who has not been President can be completely ready for for what they will experience as President.

16. I still disagree with the statement. Clinton is not prepared to hold BushInc accountable
for their many crimes of office so he is not prepared to lead this nation or the world.

What have we learned from Bush2, 9-11 and this Iraq war?

Simple: Truth Matters.

22. This has been said by many President s
It is hardly original. It also does not mean that just because you were President you will do better than someone new. FDR did an incredible job in his first 100 days. There is so much wrong, whomever wins has an enormous opportunity to be an incredible President by turning things around.

7. "Prepared" is an extremely subjective term
Having already been President, Bill Clinton's time adjusting to the office would be shorter than someone who hasn't held it before. That doesn't mean that other people are unprepared.

21. If a Dem isn't prepared to open the books on BushInc then they're NOT prepared to be president
at this point in time for our country and the world.

That would leave Bill out completely.

This time in history needs TRUTH, not more secrecy and privilege that brought about Bush2, 9-11 and this Iraq war.

24. In the face of a hostile GOP majority
for 6:8 years, Bill Clinton did a damn good job. He wasn't perfect; indeed those instances over his eight years in office where he fell short of success are used to pillory him here on a regular basis, unfortunately, conveniently forgetting all that he did right and well, the latter far outweighing the former by a long shot.

He was annihilated and a half by the GOP and MSM for his stupid lapse in judgment. Enough.

And why shouldn't he schmooze in the Ex-Presidents' Club? It was a privilege and honor he earned. It's mutual respect, nothing nefarious in interpretation in spite of the CTs propagated by those hunting Democrats here at DU.

At least GHWBush had the good sense not to invade Iraq when he had it T'd up for him by the powers that be. That's not only something, that's a lot. In fact, that should resonate.

And to answer the OP's question, the only person right now up for the task of putting America back together again is Al Gore. For a thousand reasons. Period.
