9. I believe he meant during the course of the debate...
Didn't see any other candidate get that kind of reaction...

I know you desperately wish it wasn't true...but it was...

20. Hillary made a very true statement that few admit - that funding for health is
biased - breast cancer if it killed at young ages like AIDS would be

funded very quickly.

While every group "dies in large numbers" - breast cancer is the only named problem that gets

attention re "female mortality problems" - and the vast majority of breast cancer deaths is at the

retirement ages and later.

And while that attention given breast cancer is minimal compared to "male problems", it was more than Aids got for many years.

15. He was at his entrance to the stage at least
but I don't think he sustained the enthusiasm throughout the forum.

5. Some will see that remark as grandstanding and divisive
Edited on Thu Jun-28-07 11:32 PM by BeyondGeography
The political equivalent of fast food. Tastes good, but was there any nourishment there? And did it leave a bad after-taste? It's not the home run it is being made out to be.

8. "If HIV/AIDS was the leading cause of death among WHITE women 25-34yo in this country,
there would be an outrage."

I think that deserves standing applause!

10. Hillary's playing to the crowd.
You know darn well she wouldn't dare try that same answer in a Presidential debate. She knows her audience.

16. I actually thought that comment was off the mark
Since when do diseases that mainly strike women, of any race, get millions for research? It took decades for breast cancer to get the attention it deserves.

17. in some ways it's true, but look at the attention given to missing white females
and lack of to others.

the same with school shootings where gun control got more people involved when it was white kids who were being killed.

18. I agree with you there
But still, when it comes to what gets funded and what doesn't in medical research, I think men still have the advantage over women, be they white or black.

14. And the audience applauded wildly after Kucinich's remarks
It's interesting to see and hear the different reactions to the candidates during this forum---different from a predominantly white audience.

22. DK was the only one
getting the big applause during the debate. Maybe that's because he's the only one saying exactly what the majority of people want to hear. End the war, impeach the criminals and use the money for education and health care.

I can only imagine the control it must take for those who have sold their vote to the pro-corporate democrats to be able to consistently tune DK out.

Until Gore steps in, DK gets my vote. For my children and grandchildren's sake.
