Ralph Nader Contemplating Running For President
Ralph Nader is thinking about getting into the presidential race. However, he said he would wait until fall to make his decision.

Nader’s decision will dependent on getting enough volunteers and pro bono lawyers to get him on the ballot in all 50 states. However, he expects a lot of opposition from the Democrats.

Two things:

- I think he's going to run, because if he didn't, that would almost be like admitting that it was a bad idea to run the last three times, and I just don't expect that.

- One thing that you can do to fight Nader is contact your local Democratic Party office and ask them if they need people to help contest ballot signatures. There are usually criteria that the signatures have to meet, and if they don't, they don't count. Contesting these signatures is a labor-intensive effort, and assistance will probably be needed. Also, if enough people sign up to do this, they may be able to have two people check each ballot petition, to weed out any infiltration by third-party splinterists in checking the ballots.

2. Great
We already have Bloomberg threatening to split the vote, and now Nader?

Will someone get Ron Paul to run Third Party, so that the Repubs have something to worry about as well?

5. Ron Paul wouldn't worry the Republicans
They don't like him (look at his poll numbers). It's the Democrats who would be worried, especially if they nominate someone who voted for the war.

4. He needs to sit this election out.
He will muddy-up the waters too much, and for too little gain.

Just my opinion.

13. I agree with you... he does have the right to run. I just hope he doesn't, and here's why:
(1) As long as Nader is in the mix, Democratic Party denial about who "took the votes away" from them can be pinned on him. In this election, there may be some people who would like them to know that the lost votes were because of THEM, not HIM. He's too easy a scapegoat.

(2) As long as Nader is in the mix, the election is easier to steal for the Republicans. They can just make it look like a bunch of elderly people got confused and voted for him when they just thought they were voting for the Democrat. (Like all those elderly Jewish people in Florida who supposedly voted for Pat Buchanan and Ralph Nader...) If he's not in the mix, they may actually have to break a sweat to steal the election this time. They probably will anyway, but why hand it to them?

(3) As long as Nader is in the mix, those who would like to spend the entire campaign season here bitching about him instead of talking about the real issues will get their wish. So, he'll be a "spoiler" in more ways than one.

Just my opinion, but there it is.

15. Just so you know, even if Nader does drop out...
...I am still likely to attack splinterism in all its forms. I see that as my talent in the 2008 election.

11. is he waiting for bids from republican contributors?
Guess waiting till fall will allow him to line up his neocon contributors, huh? :sarcasm:

Nader and his ego needs to sit down and stfu.

12. Maybe in the fall it will be apparent whether or not the Republicans will lose big.
If it's going to be like 60%-40% for the Democrats, then there's no use wasting the cash trying to big-up a spoiler!
