Freeper thoughts on Cheney, Pelosi and Fred....

...Cheney resigns for health reasons, gets replaced by Fred Thompson...
Heard that scenario this morning from Quinn & Rose (XM165), as an explanation as to why FT hasn't formally announced for president yet.

And the campaign to put Pelosi in the oval office continues ...

Guess they thought we were so distracted by their plan to give away the country that we wouldn’t notice.

3. Fred Thompson would not be confirmed by the Congress for the job
The Constitution requires a confirmation of a VP by both houses. Would a Democratic Congress be so stupid as to elevate a major presidential candidate to the vice presidency a year before the election? The accommodationists in the Senate might allow it, but no way it would go through Nancy Pelosi's House. She and John Conyers (the confirmation hearing is done in the Judiciary Committee) aren't even obligated to give him a hearing.

If Cheney resigns, the Democratic leadership should present Bush with a list of acceptable VP nominees, persons who will be promised to be cleared for easy confirmation. Anyone else, and the Congress will obstruct and drag their feet.

7. Yes he would
there would be a huge backlash to not confirm a qualified nominee for political reasons.
