Yes, and I'm proud to say I'm one of those 250,000... It really is a grassroots movement...

He will rise after this...

Hey, my guy was in a tailspin a couple of weeks ago. ;)

The real story of his impressive fund-raising success is that it shows he has a very strong foundation of support that will carry him well into next year, despite the natural rising and falling of the political tide.

8. I agree this is great news and will help, but Obama still has a lot of work to do
I always said he would need to run a very good campaign to win and this is a good starting point. I agree this might help him short term, but I believe he still has a lot of work to do to catch up to HRC and keep Edwards off him. I am confident that it will be a very competitive race among the top 3 in the fall.

Although, I still like Obama's chances and will try to do everything possible to get him nominated.

10. Yes, and Richardson looks like he may make this a 4 way race
The polls in the early states are competitive. Those are the only polls that truly matter right now. You are right, it will be tough (as it will be for anyone not named HRC. HRC just has to stay where she is, or close to it. The others must gain ground) for BO but Obama's $$$$ ensure he will be competitive to the end. It isn't just the money but the core base of support he has.

14. Looks to be about 4 times the number of people Edwards has donating.

The grass roots is with Obama, and it will be hard for the Edwards campaign to keep claiming they are in the "top tier."

And then there were two...

15. Money will make you competitive
I don't care what people say. Money matters in politics. It doesn't guarantee victory, but it ensures that a certain candidate will be competitive. So all this thinking that Hillary will steamroll Obama is BS. He's got way too much to get steamrolled. Besides, he draws way too many people for his speeches. He's connecting in a way that hasn't occurred in American politics in decades. And his fundraising illustrates that.
