It's GOOD we routed Drudge and stopped another of his Lies. BUT what Next?

Drudge has had (on his Newsweek/GE/RW Feed) "SOME Stories" that led to Impeachment of a President and the Trashing of a Contender to Bush..i.e. Gore.

He's had many "bombs." But, his credibility has a LONG LIFE due to the Monica Blue Dress and that the RW Repugs know he's their feed for "information/disinformation."

His latest? "Kerry Intern Sex Scandal."

That one's been squelched due to a Media Whore Faction ripe to be trashed and so it got cut.....or due to a "Grey Men in Suits" faction trying to out Bush and whom Drudge the Pentultimate Pimp of Whores might see his fortune with in the future.

BUT, don't we need to look "underneath" to see what happened here?

Kerry's story died....but the rest of our Democratic Candidates have died also....by making Kerry the frontfunner and getting the "sympathy, rally round the Dem flag issue," to come into play be the attack on his morality?

And, the smear got so little "real" press that it very likely had little or no effect on voters either way, pro or con.

Either it originated as a GOP smear tactic to take the heat off of the Bush stories in the news now (Bush camp has been in defensive mode for a couple weeks now)

OR

It originated from a Democratic source wanting to slow down Kerry's momentum in the primaries.

I tend to believe it was a GOP source.

The AWOL story had legs this time. They've been producing documents, for Christsakes! Next will be a note from Bush's homeroom teacher or something. It was time to do something that would distract. These are conservatives..meaning they like old ideas whose time has passed. So they trot out...of all things..an infidelity story. It just makes perfect sense.
