OT The A/C is back on, here is the short story

Last night about 7ish, our A/C on the house quit working. No problem. Get a repairman in the morning and the warranty on the A/C from buying the house last November will cover it.

So the repairman gets here later than we figured. It is the middle of a heat wave. The house is getting warm. He finds the trouble first thing. A mouse had crawled into the A/C unit outside. Unfortunately the mouse committed suicide by touching the wrong 2 wires at the right time. Long story short. Damage by rodents isn't covered. $750.00 later, the house is starting to cool down. Marta isn't! We have the only $750.00 mouse in town. :-)

1. Damage by rodents isn't COVERED? Why aren't their vents configured so rodents can't get IN there?
What bastards. Any excuse to deny a claim, I guess.

2. It sounds like you were ripped off
It's hard to imagine how a suicidal mouse could have caused that much damage.

3. Sounds as if they replaced your compressor, when a lizard did
a similar thing at my place in Fl. all that was necessary was to replace the 220v relay on the compressor, yours must have run on one leg, (not the mouse) one leg of current and damaged the compressor motor. That just sucks canal water.
