This time next week, the oil fields in north Iraq will be invaded by a NATO member, will Cheney let |
|
them take our oil? The facade of an Iraq government will collapse, what will Cheney do to save his puppets?

4. I'm assuming this person believes Turkey will invade Kurdish territory. |
|
Well, Turkey are a reasonably modern, well-rested army. I suggest we NOT engage them because they will happily beat our asses.
And George will finally get his World War III that nobody wants but him and his nutty buddies.

2. Yes, please provide some corroboration |
|
if you are referring to an invasion by the Turks. They have been agitating for a push to destroy the PKK but I can't see them seriously trying to grab the oil...

6. I try to pay attention to what is going on in the real world, such as Russian laying claim |
|
to the Arctic ice shelf last week and the right to the northwest passage.
Also China signing oil rights with Iran, Sudan, and Cuba within last month.
I don't keep bookmark of articles but I rely I info from the BBC, CBC, And English websites. I'm good at spotting patterns.
Yes. Turkey has decided that Cheney is to busy trying to start a war with Iran and this will be their only chance.

18. Well...they're are a lot of us paying attention to what |
|
goes on "in the real world"...for my own "opinion" I would say that, yes, Turkey will most likely go full out after the PKK, and soon...but I seriously doubt they will take it further than that. The non-PKK Kurds in the Northern region have already stated that they won't take an intervention by the Turks lightly, much less a grab for their oil. I think the Turks would be fools to make that kind of grab...the Kurds have gained plenty of weaponry since the last major Turkish incursion, top-notch training, high motivation, and the fight would be on their turf.
Granted, the Turks would be likely to use different tactics and manpower levels than we have, but they have also seen what happens when ya' stick your head into a hornets nest
I think Turkey is more concerned with the thought of some Pan-Kurdish movement in the region (as are the Iranians) rather than trying to hold onto Kurdish oil.
Just my opinion...

3. Regardless if the Turks go for the fields or not, if they invade, Iraq will splinter apart worse |
|
The Iraqi government has warned Turkey that they will not accept a violation of the northern frontier. One wonders what foolish acts they will follow if such a day passes.

8. That seems a little rapid. |
|
And a little forward of them to actually invade.
That would make for an extremely interesting week.

20. Why did another aircraft carrier leave for the gulf today? Why did Gates cancel his tour of Latin |
|
America today? Cheney doesn't call me and tell me what's going on. I suspect that this is bigger than Iraq. More likely information of the Saudi oil fields collapsing or actual production is about 50% of reported yield, that will rattle the world economic systems.

19. Well, if reports are to be believed... |
|
it is because the Mullahs have decided that hoarding refined petroleum products in the face of a possible US invasion is worth the risk of protest from the masses. Iran's oil reserves are enormous, but their refining capacity is limited. Obviously, they view the threat from the US seriously enough to make this move, but it is pretty doubtful that, faced with a US bombing campaign/invasion, they would be interested in diverting resources to help the Turks against the Kurds (or their own Kurdish population).
