1. Boo hoo! Sorry Semi Colin, your credibility is already shot
This explanation is almost as lame as the "If I only knew then what I know now" excuse certain members of Congress have given for voting to let Monkey Boy run roughshod all over the globe.

Powell's futile efforts to change Bush's mind didn't stop him from doing his little snake-oil sales job at the UN.

5. Actually, it's WORSE. He's saying that he DID know then what everyone else knows now...
And while he tried to dissuade Bush, he apparently didn't feel that it was important enough to sound the alarm to the rest of us about what HE KNEW.

Until NOW, of course. The chickenshit.

Basically, Colin was a HUGE part of the reason why everyone else--to include the House and Senate-- went along with the program. After all, the former "Reluctant General" who initially opposed DS/DS back in the Bush One Days SURELY wouldn't be a warmonger, and SURELY he would have told us if something was horribly wrong with the Bush Plan...wouldn't he??? He was the closest thing, too, to a Democrat that the Republican Party had!! Democrats trusted Powell to at least be honest and sincere, especially about matters of warfare.

Their trust was misplaced. He liked POWER more than he cared about the blood of our own servicemembers.

He's a craven bastard.

2. No one would have thought
American kids would still be getting slaughtered in Iraq five years after our initial lies. That brilliant strategist kindasleezy rice, a poster child for FAILURE. Just what the fuck has the state department accomplished since 04? I know, rhetorical question.

3. IMO, Powell should do two things. 1) Shut UP!!! 2) Go AWAY!!!!!
Why is the bastard piping up NOW? He would have been more credible if he'd RESIGNED over the war issue and explained, in an impassioned and sincere speech, why he took that course--that would have spared our nation, what? Four thousand dead and tens of thousands grievously maimed?

Colin, the blood is on your soft and well-manicured hands. Bastard. Gonna try to turn a two and a half hour chat with a fucking Dunce into another BOOK, is that it?

Talk about the personification of a LOST OPPORTUNITY. He certainly is just that. That clown could have been GREAT. Instead, he took the cheap, easy, and craven political path to Power Without Principle. For shame.

Like I said, he needs to shut up and go away.
