4. No i want Gore in this race to shake things up but i think after the 2000 election was...
stolen from him he is fed up with politics. If Gore did get in i would love to see the looks on Hillary and Obamas faces.

10. He's got to know that being president is the best way to work with other
leaders about global warming.

I'm thinking he is running. He doesn't need to get in now. Everybody knows who he is and what his positions are (i.e. Assault on Reason).

11. I don't like the "Waiting for Gore" type stuff either.
It implies that the Democrats don't have anybody worth voting for, in the current crop.

We have a great crop of candidates, we don't need Al Gore to ride in on a white horse and rescue the Democrats.

I like Richardson and I think he would make a great VP as would Kucinich. But I don't like any of them for pres. Hillary is really a repub which is very apparent when you look at her supporters. She's bought and paid for.

27. So because he empowered the American People by actually championing the Internet,
and this pisses the Freepers off, we should abandon him?

For what it's worth, lately I've seen more statements by the media, that he never actually claimed to have invented the Internet.

33. I don't agree with WHY they hate him
They just do. He is right about the environment, he never said he invented the internet, but when has the truth ever mattered to those people?

35. They view him as the major threat, because he championed the Internet,
Edited on Mon Jul-09-07 04:57 PM by Uncle Joe
and as the Internet grows in strength, he will look all the better for it, this is on top of his vision regarding the environment.

Regarding the truth, somebody once said "the truth will set you free" and if they wish to be enslaved to lies, I don't believe we should follow suit.

Edit for P.S. This is also why, they're hard at work by neutralizing the power of the Internet, by killing net neutrality, they can't stand the thought of an even playing field.

37. So what you're saying is that we should all vote for the candidate the Freepers LIKE??
Which would actually be Hillary, if they weren't all clinging to the propaganda from 1993 and actually paid attention to how Hillary panders to the right NOW.

with that logic, we should only run candidates that don't upset the freepers? Step back a bit and think. Do we really care who they hate? They are the minority.

22. Don't be so sure about that
I love that Randi wants him to run as much as I do.

Run, Al, run.

If he decides not to in the end, I'll respect that and somehow find another candidate to support in the primaries. I will ultimately support whoever gets the nomination.

30. Al is "not planning to run" per his Live Earth interview.
That's a non-denial denial. I think he's in. But why subject himself to the Republican media message now? Why play the Presidential primary game the way the media wants it scripted? Why raise funds (and become beholden to the corporate interests that come with it)now? I think he'll wait until the last minute (the filing deadline needed to assure he's on the ballot in all 50 states). He'll suck up all of the political oxygen at that point.

28. I sincerely hope Al does run
It would save the country AND the Democratic party, which is shedding grassroots supporters like no one's business. I guess the leadership bought all that Rahm Emmanuel stuff as to why they won the 2006 election, but it confuses me why there is no course correction after it became obvious that the "third way" isn't gettting any new voters, but instead resulting in a massive abandonment by the voters.

Sorry to disappoint you, Bigdarryl, but Al should run and the jury is still out. Listen to Ed Schultz...he'll probably agree wth you.

Gore refuses to say "No, I absolutely will not run." Until and unless he says that, he can decide at any time to get in.
