What will Clinton do for Hawai'i?
specifically, how would her presidency help the people of Hawai'i?

2. Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.

3. Any other candidates you want to ask about?

You ask about Obama and Clinton. There are others, you know.

5. People on the mainland never hear what the issues we struggle with every day
they are

1. Affordable housing... real estate prices are obscene and the locals can not afford to home a home. Plus unlike the mainland we can not just load up the car and move to another county where it is cheaper. We are the most isolated part of the world (excluding Antarctica).

2. Hawaiian nationhood. We of non-Hawaiian blood live in a host culture that was overthrown by the us government. Native Hawaiians have no "native" rights unlike American Indian tribes.

3. Endangered habitat. We have more endangered species than anywhere else in the world!

7. why not have one thread
to discuss Hawai'i issues and the candidates? Do you need a thread for each one?

8. Cause no one cares about Hawaiian issues by itself
and a Obama supporter is not necessarily going to read Clinton threads. I want to know what SHE thinks bout Hawaiian issues cause there is nothing in her stated positions that cover (for example) Hawaiian recognition.

Dennis Kucinich has made public statement supporting Hawaiian recognition. He seems to be the only one in the field who understands Hawaiian issues.

10. I for one am thankful to learn about Hawaii's issues.
You are right, I know nothing about concerns there and I can't recall ever hearing any politician discuss Hawaii in anything but the lightest of moods. I hope the candidates do address Hawaiian issues. Hawaii deserves as much attention as Iowa or New Hampshire or Georgia.

11. Mahalo for understanding the point of this thread!
Educating the rest of the country is the first step. Candidates who publicly recognize this are needed!!
