It's Official -- I Have a Candidate for '08!
Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 09:11 AM by Totally Committed
You can all get off my back now. I'm tired of all the name-calling, finger-pointing, and bullies getting medieval all over my arse for not supporting any of the current crop of Democratic Candidates for President. Nope -- no more will I be taking abuse for opposing the "inevitable" candidate, or not backing either of the other two "top tier"-ers. Unless/until an adult candidate I can truly support with all my heart and soul enters the race, I believe I have found the perfect candidate:

The official statement from her website:

My name is Susie Flynn. I am running for President of the United States of America to help the nine million children who have no health insurance. This is a crisis. These children have been let down, yet the people accountable are doing too little to solve it. By running for President, I intend to make everyone in America aware of the issue so that it will no longer be ignored. Under your next President, every child in America must get the health insurance he or she deserves.

She must be good, because she's already being Swift-boated by none-other than the snarky Wonkette:

Meet America's Newest Loser Candidate
By Wonkette

She's earnest like John Edwards and a "fresh face" like Barack Obama, minus the cigarette-stained teeth and madrassa indoctrination. It's far more likely she'll be elected King Jesus Christ than than electe President of the United States -- putting her in the same class as Tom Vilsack and Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich -- but the scrappy newcomer is all smiles and optimism.

Making the same mistake Hillary made back in 1993, Susie Flynn is a one-issue politician: health care, health care, health care. Susie seems to think this is a big deal especially because she is actually a 9-year-old girl.

Here is a lesson, Susie: You can't even vote, let alone run for President. Presidents must be (a) named either Clinton or Bush, (b) outrageously rich and corrupt, and (3) probably linked to the Nazis. And, your sad "children without health insurance"? Even if they weren't so sickly and weak, they still couldn't vote. There are "Two Americas", as John Edwards says, and those 9 million uninsured poor kids are definitely in the second one (the poor one). Please leave the presidential campaigns to the pros: evil and treacherous scumbags like James Carville and Karl Rove and Lee Atwater and Mary Matalin.

But it's great to see at least one little girl who still dreams of being the biggest asshole in the world.

Shame on her for that non-support! Susie may be nine, but she's got heart, and soul, and spunk! Here is a clip showing her trying to get the White House to put up one of her Yard Signs:

She's awesome!

Here is the link to her Official Website, again:

And, here are some more links to check out, too:

Susie on Care2:

She may be sort of one-issue, but that issue dove-tails perfectly with that of the man I'd love to see run on her ticket as VP... her own "two-fer" --

Yup!....

3. Hm. A candidate ... for The Onion.
It's too early to get serious about the Presidential candidates. It's too early for satire.

Talk to me in April.

8. I beg to differ!
This is a very important campaign, and one we can all support until a candidate we CAN support joins the race!

4. not so fast there, you Flynnista ...
your new candidate sounds pretty good but I have just one question: will she solve the health care crisis but cutting Big Insurance out of the process? all other solutions, like the ones from the CEO candidates, i.e. Clinton, Edwards and Obama, are NOT solutions at all ...

15. I realize that....
But, when they amend the Constitution so that Ahnuld can run, I say we Lobby them in a bib way to change the age for a candidate to run to 9, too!

Soon, they'll be sending kids her age to Iraq, if we're not vigilant... why not let 'em run and vote, too?

22. This is a playful distraction.
An unwanted consequence of starting presidential campaigns two years early is that we get bored with them early.

23. You said that, not me.
I agree it's way too early, but this is my hedge against all the bully threads.

I, and others on the left have been savaged of late, so I have decided to provide an alternative that will be fun, and a good cause to back until such time as I have a candidate I feel I can support!

24. Well, "been savaged on DU" is a big club.
My "crime" is confronting those who condemn Ralph Nader's 2000 candidacy. Man, people take obsession to new levels.

So, if your Susie campaign kicks some sand in the proper faces, go for it.
