Candidate's Supporters Turning Virginia into Obama's Country
The Obama grassroots movement is becoming a force to reckon with as groups upon groups are taking the daunting task of mobilizing, outreaching and crusading the vision of their candidate to voters across the country.

One of the notable groups in Virginia is Alexandria4Obama who are actively mobilizing for Sen. Barack Obama in the area. In an email received Monday night from a member of the Alexandria4Obama Steering Committee Keith Lutman, the group will kick-start on Saturday, 7-14-07, a 15,000-petition drive across Alexandria to have Sen. Obama on the Virginia ballot.

To many of these Obama supporters who are volunteering to commit their precious time for the group, they say their commitments are based on the fact that Mr. Obama does not engaged in a mindless and rancid partisanship divide that has become the order of the day in Washington for the past decade.

Early this year, the governor of Virginia Tim Kaine became the first sitting governor to endorse the candidacy of Sen. Obama. The Virginia Democratic primary is slated for February 12, 2008. Democrats in Virginia do hope that with Obama's message of moving past selfish complacency to inspired compassion, they will certainly win the state in 2008.
