We need to learn what Louisiana does by law. It's not the same all over the country. I can hardly wait for the next chapter of the story.

very nice 'lifestyle' with the money the neocon's will throw at him to remain in the Senate.

Fuck, he has all but won the 'lottery' with this one...

I think it's going to get a lot worse for Vitters as more of the story comes out, and if he does resign, and the governor gets to pick his replacement, democrats may have picked up another seat which means that fucker Joe Lieberman would be completely marginalized.

If remaining term is more than a year Governor makes temporary appointment, with special election to follow. Vitter's term isn't up until 2010, so that would be the procedure.
