Comparison of the voting records of Holy Joe, HRC, and Obama on Iraq
Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 09:37 PM by draft_mario_cuomo
This is an interesting comparison that goes up to March 29.

Times All three voted together: 50
HRC and Holy Joe voted together: 1
Obama and Holy Joe voted together: 1
HRC and Obama voted together: 18

The times only HRC and Obama voted together is distorted a bit by missed votes, including a string of missed votes by Holy Joe. There is also a noticeable shift after campaigning began as both HRC and BO started voting with Holy Joe much less often.

4. Yup. Who might have sponsored the IWR??

Funny how you guys are trying to chop up history according to reinvention time. It was THIS war your boy, Edwards was pushing for - so hard, W used his speech on his campaign website

7. Nice bait and switch and deception regarding the article
==Funny how you guys are trying to chop up history according to reinvention time.==

The article compares the voting records of that trio. It is kind of hard to do that before 2005 when one of the three was not in the senate.

8. It's a case of the rope and the hangman. Certain candidates should stay away
from some topics where they don't look particularly good (judging by Edwards' votes, that would be most topics). IWR was a vote for the same war you want to hang the competition for.

11. Who is talking about "hanging" candidates?
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 12:11 AM by draft_mario_cuomo
This is a simple comparison of voting records. Nothing revolutionary. It seems you, a supporter of one of the three, are afraid of the record being discussed? Why is that. ;)

17. I am a supporter of none of them. Edwards' voting record is the worst of the 3
so I was answering your voting record comparison with the candidate you're peddling.
If voting records actually matter to you, you need to pick someone else.

2. gee, you are such a class act, DMC...
you know, I could go in there and compare Edwards with Joe's record.
You can cherry pick anything from all the votes.
true class, DMC

5. Especially as they both co-sponsored IWR - they were good buds on it!
Not a big stretch lumping them together - at least up to the "apology" time - which didn't bring to life any dead I am told.

6. I'd like to see that comparison
I, like most reality-based Democrats, like to vote based on information.

9. Edwards still voted for IWR
The blood of his soldiers is on his hands, just like it's on Hillary's. Obama's hands are clean on this issue, as are Kucinich's and Gravel's and Richardson's.

But Biden, Clinton, Edwards and Dodd all have blood on their hands. Deal with it.

10. And? Who is claiming Edwards did not vote for the IWR?
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 12:12 AM by draft_mario_cuomo
For the record, Richardson said he would have voted for the IWR. Obama voted consistently to finance the war (until 2 months ago) as soon as he got a chance to cast votes. Kucinich is the only pure candidate on Iraq (no one knows where Gravel stood on Iraq in 2002-2005).

Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 12:39 AM by draft_mario_cuomo
Edwards has nothing to do with the OP. No one is saying he is better on Iraq than the trio in the OP--he wasn't even mentioned until several ultra-sensitive Obama fans read the thread. I notice HRC supporters are not going beserk about a comparison of the record. Of course, we know why HRC supporters are comfortable with the actual record being examined and why BO supporters have a vested interest in keeping a lid on discussion of records. ;)

19. Not only isn't he any better, he is so very bad on it it's not even funny.
he pushed for this war like a neocon - so leave other candidates alone...Your little comparison is backfiring. Badly.

Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 12:41 AM by draft_mario_cuomo
We all know Edwards' record on Iraq. Edwards himself honestly talks about it. He isn't trying to distort or hide his record on Iraq. ;)

16. Hi Mario - How is it going tonight?
So today I was cleaning out my drawers and guess what!

I found a Brown shirt! It was a shirt my wife bought me so we could have a family picture taken at Mission San Juan Capistrano. http://www.missionsjc.com/ Quite a lovely setting actually a Historic Mission with lovely flowers and plant life. The picture turned out great! (the pictures along the Pacific are just so passe out here.)

Anyway since I have given you a few days to apologize for calling me and other Obama supporters Brownshirts, and you have not had the common decency to offer up an apology, I just wanted to let you know that I do actually own a brown shirt so you can claim that you were actually correct in calling me that name. (In a Karl Rove kind of way)

:hi:

18. Not trying to distort? Did he let anyone know about SPONSORING IWR?
Not merely voting for it, SPONSORING IT? I didn't think so.
