Wapo: Clinton, herself, has said there are no Do Overs
With everyone arguing about the statement that Barack Obama made today about there being no Do Overs with the war, I found this article interesting.
Clinton, herself, has said the reason she will not apologize for her vote for the war is because there are no Do Overs.
So, as far as I see it, both have said this and that means Case closed.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has long said she will not apologize for her vote to authorize the war in Iraq because there are no "do-overs" in life.

Now she and her chief rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Barack Obama, agree on that truism.

"When I opposed this war before it began in 2002, I was about to run for the United States Senate, and I knew it wasn't the politically popular position," Obama said during a town hall meeting in Des Moines on Tuesday.

"But I believed then and still do that being a leader means that you'd better do what's right and leave the politics aside, because there are no do-overs on an issue as important as war," Obama said.

1. Illprog criticizes a comparison of voting records but has no problem spinning on HRC's statements?

The minute by minute shifts of Ill Prog are amusing to watch.

Weak spin. Obama was once again practicing the "old politics" by attacking HRC's prior support for the war and her de-authorization bill. You are attempting to justify that by citing HRC stating the obvious. HRC is trying to do something going forward; Obama is looking back. I think this is a good comparison of the two on Iraq. One relies on what he said 5 years ago while the other talks about what she wants to do today and tomorrow.

The funny part is that we know Obama will, as he has done 99% of the time, vote with HRC on the HRC- Byrd bill.

2. Oh please...
At least Hillary isn't groveling with some fake non-apology apology...

And I'm sorry, but Obama was running against Alan Keyes...he could have kicked his dog on national TV and still won that race...

5. Obama
gave his anti-war speech in October 2002. This was two years before Alan Keyes was imported to Illinois. It was a gutsy speech at the time especially for someone planning on a U.S. Senate bid. If Hillary had given this speech back then she would be non-stop reminding everyone and she would have every right to do so.

6. Actually had she made that speech and Bill followed with a similar one
it is possible that opinion would have been moved so much that the war would have been averted. They were the 2 biggest voices in the Democratic party.

3. Now...if we could just find someone with...
...enough intelligence and integrity to actually perform that way maybe, just maybe, we could get somewhere.

Personally, I think my wife would be an excellent candidate.

:D

4. sounds lame to me
Either her vote was a mistake or it was not a mistake. If it was a mistake she should apologize. If it was not a mistake, she should defend it.
