Edwards: Congress should not back down on timetable for withdrawal in funding bills
He is 100% right on this. Democrats in Congress have to stand up to * and keep sending him a funding bill that includes a binding timetable for withdrawal even after he vetoes it, not caving in because of a veto. This is not about "playing chicken" but about ending this war. Force * to have no alternative but to sign a bill that ends the war.

==Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards held a telephone conference call with reporters this afternoon and he talked about this week's senate debate over Iraq war funding.

"They need to use that funding authority to submit a bill to the president that supports the troops, funds the troops, but also has a timetable for withdrawal and they should not back down from that," Edwards said. "It is the only way this president is going to start drawing troops out of Iraq."==
