Ok :sarcasm:
That's usually the response the right wing gives to anyone on the left when they question anything the Bush Administration has done.
Notice I said, POSSIBLY in my post, I didn't accuse anyone of doing anything wrong, Your obviously a Clinton supporter so your going to go to great lengths to defend your candidate. If you saw this information about another candidate would you not have a raised eyebrow? Exactly I thought so, you would.
My motivation to post this info, is simply when the primaries are finished and the democratic presidential nominee is chosen is there anyone on this board who wants the possibility that the candidate got the nod on artificially inflated poll numbers? This goes for any candidate, if their base is estimated to higher then it actually is, isn't that just handing a victory to the republican candidate.
I simply haven't seen with my own two eyes that large of a base support for Hillary that is indicated by polls. For the past 5 months I've been going grassroots volunteering for the Obama campaign at various events that draw in the democratic demographic of voters. I'm sure about now all the Hillary supporters who are reading this will discredit anything written beyond this sentence. That's ok, I don't care I'm not writing a hit piece against her, I'm just writing what I've experience and why I have a raise eyebrow.
The events I've attended have been centered around causes or groups like LGBT, Anti-war/peace, Families and Hispanics in the Indianapolis area. Contrary to popular belief Indiana isn't a red state it's purple, Last year Indiana picked up a couple of house seats for the democrats in the election that help win back the control of the house. More to the point the City of Indianapolis is blue, we have a democrat as mayor, a African American who is a democrat as sheriff, and most of the city is apart of the only congressional district in the US that has a majority of the population being white being represented by a democrat who is african american. Kind of blows the stereotype of the whole state of Indiana being associated with the KKK due to it's past history and the cry Indiana lacks diversity. Any questions regarding a lack of democrats in Indiana should be answered.
At these events I've interacted with about 800 individuals total, the conversations have ranged from 15 seconds to 15 minutes, most last around an average of 30 seconds. It usually involves me with a handing out flyers asking people if they would like to know information regarding Senator Obama's presidential campaign. I get interest in Obama, I meet Obama supporters, I get plain no thanks and I get no thanks and I'm supporting this candidate. I ask the plain no thanks people who they are supporting most tell, a few I don't get an answer. The answers I get by the number of replies, Edwards, Gore, Richardson, Kucinich: I've even gotten a small number of people saying they support Rudy G, Ron Paul and Thompson. The Gore supporters I ask who they would support if he doesn't run, it's a 3 way split, Obama, Edwards or no one except Gore. The people who have interest in Obama I will assume as being undecided, so there is a chance they could turn out to be Hillary supporters in the future, out of these people I've had around 25 say they haven't decide between Hillary or Obama. Other than that I haven't met a single person tell me that they are clearly a Hillary Clinton Supporter. I have in fact met a large number of people who would not support Hillary if she became the nominee.
I'm not saying that Hillary has no supporters in Indianapolis, I'm just saying I haven't met any. I'm surprised by this after interacting with 800 people at events that are magnets for democrats I would expect to meet a few, wouldn't I meet at least one? Either her supporters don't show their support in public, which is hard to believe since supporters of every other candidate have no problem doing it; or there just isn't the base of support for her as portrayed by the media.
