Cindy Sheehan: Lower Approval Numbers Than Bush
She is viewed favorably by 22% of Americans. That's down from 31% in September 2005.

Fifty percent (50%) now have an unfavorable view of Sheehan. That’s up from 39% a couple of years ago.

The current figures include 8% with a Very Favorable opinion of Sheehan and 32% with a Very Unfavorable view.

Democrats have mixed views of the anti-War activist. Thirty-four percent (34%) have a favorable opinion while 39% say the opposite.

While views of Sheehan have declined over the past two years, support for the cause that brought her into the national spotlight has increased. Most Americans today want to see U.S. troops out of Iraq by early next year.

There is less public support for Sheehan’s current crusade, but 39% of Americans believe that President Bush should be impeached and removed from office. President Bush’s Job Approval ratings, updated daily on Rasmussen Reports, remain near all-time lows.

1. This is what happens...
When the media portrays you as a left wing wackjob rather than a grieving mother.

13. You've got it.
Sure she is a bit of a loose cannon, and wears her heart on her sleeve, and that makes her a great target for the MSM. They are doing whatever they can to make everyone sick of her. I mean COME ON - a POLL on whether she or Bush is more annoying? I refuse to play into their hands.

19. Sorry, with the exception of FOX the coverage I saw of Sheehan was pretty straight
Edited on Wed Jul-11-07 01:15 PM by Mike Daniels
Sheehan lost a good number of people with her hissy over the Katrina coverage.

Sucking up to Hugo Chavez probably cost more than it gained in support as well.

And to top it off, she goes on record with her flaming ignorance of history this week.

Cindy doesn't need the media's help when she's apparently doing such a great job of personally marginalizing herself on her own.

Odd when Ras says what people want it is lionized on DU.When they disagree they are RW.They are atually just neutral pollsters IMHO.

7. and the Democratic Congress has lower approval than BOTH
Cindy AND Bush according to Rasmussen . these numbers are a week or so old I believe.

<clip>
Just 16% of American voters now say that Congress is doing a Good (14%) or an Excellent (2%) job. That’s down from 19% in mid-June and from 26% at the end of May. Today, 35% say Congress is doing a Fair job while 46% say Poor (see history).

The current ratings for Congress are just a single point above the ratings for the Republican controlled Congress heading into Election 2006.

Among Democratic voters, 26% now say Congress is doing a good or an excellent job. That’s down from 35% a month ago. Thirty-seven percent (37%) of Democrats say their team is doing a fair job while 32% say poor. Only 13% of Republicans say Congress is doing a good or excellent job and just 9% of unaffiliated voters share that assessment.

herself from the party. But hell, I'm one of those slave-owning warmongers who wants to tax the crap out of her. :eyes:

9. Sad Decline
Cindy initially had such moral authority and vision in her grieving plea for an end to this war. I loved her courage back then. Unfortunately, she went far beyond that and lost that credibility. I would hate to see her run for office because it just show how far her decline has sunk, and it would reiterate that the public just doesn't really like her much anymore. I prefer to think of her as she was originally -- strong and vibrant and courageous.

22. So all these numbers must not mean much.
Edited on Wed Jul-11-07 01:17 PM by closeupready
And as I was read yesterday here, Rasmussen's polls mean nothing.

Seriously, wyldwolf, do you really think anyone is listening to Cindy anymore? She did a brave courageous thing at Camp Casey, but people change, and she's out there, I think everyone knows that. If it were ever true that ignoring people would make them go away, she is an example of that, IMO. (Though I confess I like her.)

23. "Rasmussen's polls mean nothing."
Only when they say things ya don't want to hear. Otherwise (as we saw in that one week when Obama led Clinton by 2 points) "it's the most reliable poll."

Seriously, wyldwolf, do you really think anyone is listening to Cindy anymore?

nope.
