The Republican 'War Defectors" have neither left the Pres nor are opposing him.
Their strategy, it appears to me, is just plain brilliant.

The Dems have done (more than) a few things to stop the war. The Republicans stood in the way of them at every step. So now the heat is on the likes of Sununununu and The Maine Girls and Normie. Instead of joining the Dems, they form their own coalition of (hahahahahaha) opposition. In the end, they will have no impact on the madman's moving forward with his wargasm, but allow these disingenuous fuckers to say 'we tried'.

Tried? You did no such thing, you worthless sacks of shit. I would not be in the least surprised if you worked all this out with KKKKarl.

2. Lugar, Voinovich, Domenici--they got the headlines for looking like they
give a damn about the troops and the war situation, and then they vote against troop rest and limiting deployment time. Think anyone pays attention to how they vote, besides us junkies? That's what they're betting on--folks remembering their courageous rhetoric, not realizing their hypocrisy in how they vote. The only ones who get full credit, IMO, are still Smith and Hagel, for putting their votes where their mouths are--pretty much the same two since April--we have not made much progress, obviously. Let's see what happens with the bills proposed by Snowe, Warner, Lugar--bet they have no real teeth.

3. Once again it is obvious that they are just playing games.
Once again our leaders will refuse to do the only thing they can do: stop the funding. They will instead 'sportdatroops' by keeping them locked into the mess-o-potamian disaster. They will opt for yet another round of funding in september. There is no end to this crap, not this year, not next year, and who knows what shit will be pulled in 09?

5. All they are doing is continuing to cover for and protect Bush -- it is obscene
And quite frankly I do not understand it -- Why are they protecting Bush still?

6. Exactly and it's a damn good idea for DUers in their states to look over
previous support for Bush.

They knew damn well the measure would fail.
