Poll question: Which One Are You?: DNC, DLC, DFA? And Something Else, |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-11-07 07:40 PM by Dinger
Do you think this is good for our party? I'm not so sure. It's nice to have a big umbrella, but I wouldn't want to have a "lockstep" situation either. Does the republic party have a RLC, RFA? I would just like your thoughts on this, because many of you here are a lot smarter than I.

Hope that helps. No more editing. I think it's bad form to edit polls.

5. The DNC is within the party structure |
|
Every Democrat is DNC. The other two you mention are ex-party organizations, political PACs.

I was a founding member of DFA. I donate to the DNC. Some folks on DU probably consider me a "DLC toady".

12. Something Else. That's me! |
|
Independent progressive populist.
I'm not a fan of "the big tent". The working class needs it's own party. We shouldn't have a second thought about excluding the investor class. Their interests run counter to ours.

Based on my expierence that would be the PDA, not the DFA, which has retained Dean's moderation, despite those who sought to use it as a vehicle for their own cause.

20. I'm a loud, proud, and old-fashioned Left-Wing Anti-War Liberal |
|
with a distinctly anti-corporatist, pro-equality progressively humanistic bent. I'd rather my tax $$$ would feed or educate a child rather than buy a bomb or end up oppressing anyone; to rebuild NOLA, rather than enrich Halliburton; to give people a hand up, rather than a smack down. And, I am at the point where I am ready to put my full conscience behind my vote.
"Does the republic party have a RLC, RFA?" Yes, and no. Their RLC is our DLC, as far as I'm concerned. They couldn't have an RFA if they tried.
Thanks for asking.

I'm a registered democrat, but beyond that, I belong to no group, nor do I work for any particular candidate. I have issues that are important to me, and I view the list of candidates through that filter. I discuss them, I weigh them, and yes I even criticize them based on my own issue critiera.
I DO however, reject the notion that any one group within the party is the best spokesmodel for the party. I DO reject the notion that elitism vs. grass roots is the way to run the democratic party. I DO reject unblinking fanaticism absent issue discussion for any candidate.
I yam what I yam.
